Parent FAQs

  • Something came up and I need to change my child's afternoon transportation.  What should I do?  All transportation changes need to be communicated as soon as possible to the school and teacher.  It is best to call or email the school before 11:00 AM.  Emails sent closer to dismissal may not be read in time to make the change and students must go home their regular way.  If you email Mr. Beasley and do not receive a reply, please call the office.  Please email transportation changes to:

  • Am I allowed to eat lunch with my child?  COVID safety precautions have changed the way FMSD has done this in the past.  Parents are allowed to have lunch with their children this year!  However, there is a limit of 4 times that students can have guest at lunch.

  • What are the prices for school meals for students?  Meal prices for students forthe 2023-2024 school year are as follows:

    • Breakfast:  $1.35

    • Lunch:  $2.25

  • When do graded papers come home?  Graded papers will be sent home on Wednesdays.  Look for the KTES folder to come home with your child on this day.  Review the things enclosed, sign the back cover of the folder, and return the folder the next school day.

  • What do I do with the graded work that comes home in the weekly communication folder?  Unless directed by an email or note, all graded work is yours to keep at home.  Please review the work and let me know if you have any questions about the grade or if you believe there is an error in grading.

  • My child has a cell phone (or device used to communication) that we use before or after school.  Are they allowed at school? Student cell phones and devices must remain turned off and in student backpacks unless specifically used for instructional or medical purposes.

  • Should my child be completing a reading log each night?  Students in 4th grade will be documenting their independent reading that they do in class.  We want students to WANT to read at home and encourage them to read, but it doesn't have to be recorded.

  • How can I find out my child's current grades?  That's easy.  You have been given log-in information specific for your child.  Use that log-in information to access the latest grades 24/7.  I will work to update the gradebook at least once a week.  Remember, there are also classwork grades that are added to the gradebook in each subjects that won't necessarily come home in the communication/graded work folder.

  • Can I volunteer in the classroom?  Yes!  There are always ways to help out in the classroom.  Just let me know if you are interested in volunteering and we can work together to find the best role for you.

  • Is there a class code for ordering Books from Scholastic?  Yes.  You can order from Scholastic Reading Clubs by completing the order form that I send home with students OR by completing the order online.  By ordering online you get access to a bigger selection of book and materials and you can use your credit or debit card to pay Scholastic directly.  The books will still be delivered with the rest of the class order.  Either way you order, our class earns points that can be used to buy more books for our classroom library!  Book order website: https://clubs.scholastic.com/home
    Mr. Beasley's Class Code:  GTNR3
